Roydan’s Jeff Peterson Helps Light Up the Skies July 4th

The Kellnersville Betterment Association was developed to help the community grow and thrive through youth and adult events and team sports. The association offers a variety of no-charge activities including softball, beanbags, horseshoes and volleyball, as well as community events such as the annual Christmas party and the Independence Day celebration. “I started helping out with my kids’ baseball teams several years ago. This led to other opportunities including volunteering in the concessions area and beer tent and finally the fireworks display. Over the years as the organization’s activities have grown, so has my involvement.”

Putting on a 30-40 minute fireworks display is no small task. According to Jeff, it takes about three days to prepare the entire display but an entire year to perfect it. “As soon as we finish with one year, we start planning for the next. When the time finally comes, it’s three days of setup, as well as the event and cleanup.”

This year’s event marks the 48th year of the display. It will take place on July 3 at the Kellnersville ball park, and will be accompanied by a host of family-friendly activities including a children’s carnival (for kids 10 and under), games, music, and delicious food!

The fireworks presentation starts at dusk and features an amazing ground display that is only visible from the event location. “What makes this event so special is that you can get up close to the display and virtually anywhere you sit within the park grounds offers a great vantage point to see the show,” Jeff adds.

At Roydan, we believe that we should do what we can to help our communities be their very best. We are grateful for team members like Jeff who go the extra mile to do the same. Thank you for your efforts in helping make America’s birthday spectacular!
